The  Organ Piano and Keyboard Society of Auckland inc.,(OPKSA) was established by a name change in 2014. We were formerly the Organ Society of New Zealand inc.,  which was established in 1970, and for many years had its own well known  premises in Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough, Auckland  with a membership that grew to 500.  Due to the decline in Organ players and membership it was decided to change the name to include Piano and Keyboard in the title to encourage a wider range of keyboard musicians.

Our club meets every Wednesday from 9.30am to 2.00pm where members come and go within this time frame to  socialise with other members and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. A 15 min time slot is alocated to any member that wishes to play one of the club's instruments.  Time permitting another slot is available. Once a month we have a mini concert for members, which is based on a theme, like,  Girls Name,  Transport,  Weather. This encourages members to seek out new music and play to a small audience of members.

Our members play all types of music and at all levels of ability.

Our registered bi-monthly Newsletter is distributed to all members as well as the Hocken Library Dunedin, Auckland  Libraries, and the Legal Deposit Office Auckland.

We have four variety concert a year to bring easy listening and entertaining music to the community. The concerts consist of club members playing in the first half, and a Guest Artiste in the second half of the program.

The Pleasure of Music

It's not what you play

It's not how you play

It's  the fact that you are

playing that counts
